Who is responsible

Visitors
We do not set cookies and we use no advertising trackers. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, to count page views and measure how fast our pages load (see Website analytics below). Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page, browser) for security and operations, for up to 30 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).
Pages with a map load map tiles from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), which uses OpenStreetMap data; your browser sends your IP address to OpenFreeMap when it loads them. OpenFreeMap is operated by Hyperknot Software Kft. (Hungary, EU) and may be delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). The map is loaded without cookies from us, and in our tests OpenFreeMap set no cookies. The map software is served from our own server. 'Use my location' runs only in your browser: your position is never sent to us or anyone else. See the OpenFreeMap privacy policy.
Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to learn how many people read our pages, which pages are useful, which websites send visitors to us, and how fast our pages load. When a page loads, a small script from Cloudflare (static.cloudflareinsights.com) measures the page and sends the measurement to Cloudflare (cloudflareinsights.com).
- What we see: aggregated figures only: page views and visits, which page was viewed (without the part of the address after "?"), the referring website, country, browser, operating system, device type (desktop, mobile or tablet), page load time and Core Web Vitals (Google's page-speed measures).
- No cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting: Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, and does not "fingerprint" individuals via their IP address, user agent string or any other data. Cloudflare also states that it does not track individual visitors across its customers' websites.
- Your IP address: as with any web request, your browser sends your IP address to Cloudflare when it loads the script and sends the measurement.
- Who processes the data: Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) processes the data for us as our data processor. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Retention: Cloudflare keeps the detailed measurements for 7 days and then keeps an aggregated sample. Cloudflare does not state an end date for that sample; we can view reports for the previous six months.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful and keeping the site fast (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time by emailing hello@whatsripenow.com. Many content blockers block the script, and the site works the same without it.

Farms (GDPR article 14)
Farm pages show business information the farm has published itself or that appears in public sources. For some farms this includes a person's name or phone number.
- Categories: farm name, address, phone, email, website, crops, seasons, prices and opening hours.
- Sources: the farm's own website, USDA Local Food Directories, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (Ohio Proud), OpenStreetMap, US Census Bureau and Ohio State University Extension.
- Purposes: (1) publishing a public guide to u-pick farms; (2) emailing farms to ask them to check or complete their page. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).
- Retention: as long as the farm is listed, and for up to 3 months after a page is removed (backups). Email exchanges with farms: up to 2 years after our last email exchange.
- Removal and do-not-contact list: If a farm asks us to remove its page or stop contacting it, we keep only the farm name, website, the email address it used (if any) and the date of the request, so we don't list or contact it again. We check this list before every email we send.
- Your right to object: a farm can object at any time to our processing, including outreach emails, and ask us to correct or remove its page. Email hello@whatsripenow.com; we act within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Recipients and transfers outside the EU/EEA
- Web host and email (hello@whatsripenow.com): e-studio ApS, Kjellerup, Denmark (CVR 37074640), servers in Denmark; data processing agreement: e-studio's standard agreement.
- Map tiles: OpenFreeMap, Hyperknot Software Kft., Hungary (EU).
- CDN for map tiles: Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Website analytics: Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), our data processor; transfers to the USA rely on Cloudflare's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
US visitors
We do not sell or share personal information (as defined by US state privacy laws such as the CCPA).
Do Not Track
We don't track visitors across sites and we don't use cookies. Our only analytics is cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics (see above), so the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
If you email us
We use your email only to answer you and keep it as long as needed for that purpose.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction, and object to our processing. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk).
